Forklift training for individuals

Many people come to us with little or no forklift experience. That’s fine, we work with first-time learners every day. Our individual forklift training is suitable if you:

  • want to work in warehousing or logistics
  • are changing careers
  • are paying for your own training
  • want to improve job opportunities
  • already work in a warehouse and want to upskill

We explain how forklift licences work, how long training takes, and what employers usually look for. Payment plans are available, and we do our best to offer flexible dates.

We also support learners with English as a second language and make sure training is delivered at a pace that works for everyone.

Student discount

At Redi-Lift Learning, we’re proud to support students by offering a 10% discount on all of our training courses when you present a valid student ID. Starting a new career can feel like a big step, and having the right training and qualifications can make all the difference. We aim to make professional forklift training more accessible, helping students gain practical skills, build confidence, and move forward with their career plans.

Build your own experience

At Redi-Lift Learning, we offer flexible “Build Your Own Experience” packages for individuals who already hold a forklift licence but would benefit from additional hands-on time. These packages are designed to help you strengthen your skills, improve confidence, and feel fully prepared for real working environments. With five options available, ranging from a few extra hours to extended training over several days or weeks, you can choose the level of support that best suits your needs.

Forklift training for businesses

We provide forklift training for businesses of all sizes, from small warehouses to large distribution centres.

Businesses can choose:

  • On-site forklift training at their premises
  • Off-site training at our Coventry or Northampton training schools

Training is adapted to your:

  • site layout
  • equipment
  • number of operators
  • experience levels

Forklift licences are valid for three years, and many businesses return to us for refresher training and ongoing support.

Our approach to forklift training

Forklift training can be confusing, particularly around licences and accreditation. We take a clear, straightforward approach and explain things in plain language.

You do not need to train at an accredited training centre for a forklift licence to be valid. What matters is that:

  • Your instructor is registered and qualified by one of four accrediting bodies

The training complies with the recommendations of:

  • PUWER (Provision and Use or Work Equipment Regulations) (1998)
  • HSE L117 – Rider operated Lift Trucks: approved code of practice. You are assessed as competent and safe to operate the truck

We’re open about this because people ask us about it regularly, and it’s important they have accurate information. If you have further questions about this, please get in touch with us directly.

Why choose Redi-Lift Learning?

People choose us for forklift training because:

  • We have our own dedicated training schools
  • We operate a wide range of training trucks
  • Training is delivered by experienced instructors
  • Courses are tailored, not one-size-fits-all
  • We offer flexible dates and availability
  • We provide clear pricing and straightforward advice
  • We’re happy to help those with learning difficulties or those with English as a second language

We make forklift training easy to understand and easy to arrange.
